The Sale

It’s that special time of year when Nordstrom debuts their fall items at a special discounted price. I have been shopping this sale for many years as you can see from my picks from last season here and here. The reason is because it’s definitely a great time to take advantage and stock up on essentials, basics and have a fresh wardrobe ready for fall.

Starting July 12th, all cardholders will have access to sale items. Otherwise, it opens to the public on July 19th and prices go up August 5th. Unfortunate but true, many items, especially those that are most coveted are often sold out by the 19th. With that said, that is why I highly recommend applying for the Nordstrom card. This is one card that I feel I get the most bang for my buck with due to all the rewards I rack up. This year I was lucky enough to have achieved the Ambassador status and was able to shop even earlier!

I will be the first to tell you that the sale can be very overwhelming. There are so many items that it’s easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of what you should purchase and/or purchasing things you don’t need or simply don’t really want. Believe me, I have done just that! That’s why I am sharing my wardrobe pieces with you that are chic, simple and easy to mix and match with one another.

Basics

Everyone gal needs some simple tees and camisoles. These are perfect for layering and have a great price point. I picked up gray, black and white with these Caslon tees as well as black and ivory with these lace trim camisoles. While I didn’t grab these two-way camisoles, I have several already and absolutely love them. I highly recommend them!

Sweaters

Okay real talk. I HATE itchy sweaters. I just can’t deal. I have always had a sensitivity to wool and at times, I tried to make it work. Well, no more. With that said, I am extremely particular. I would rather invest in quality sweaters that will hold up over time and keep me from clawing myself. I definitely needed sweaters for the upcoming fall and winter season. I found these great cardigans and sweaters that fit the bill of being itch free and super chic. And yes the leopard print isn’t the right size. I had to order the small but wanted to show you how adorable it is with jeans!

Jackets and Blazers

I do not buy blazers and jackets often. So when I do, I want to make sure I am investing in pieces that are versatile and top quality. They definitely don’t need to break the bank but if you are going to wear them often and expect them to last, be particular in how it’s made. With that said, I am a huge fan of Veronica Beard. Not only does this brand fit my shape and petite frame well, the quality is top notch. Additionally, this BlankNYC moto jacket has been a come back for years and I finally decided to take the plunge. The color is the perfect warm neutral for fall. Plus, the smooth suede is ridiculously nice and the price point on this one is even sweeter! For reference I am just shy of 5′ 4″ and both of these jackets are flattering paired with denim but will also work well with leggings, skirts you name it!

And ya’ll, one of my absolute favorite and most simple of all of my selections, is the AllSaints Knit Jacket. It’s so stinking cute yet chic. I can see this paired with leggings and sneakers and also a tee and jeans! You definitely don’t want to pass this one up and it comes in three colors too!

Bottoms

I didn’t purchase the denim seen here simply because I have some very similar. Otherwise, I would have for certain. AG denim is always a great staple to have in your closet. These state high waisted, however I have a shorter torso and I felt like they fit just right. They didn’t seem to be swallowing me like most high waisted denim. I did however pick up these adorable leopard print lounge pants. They are simply smooth like “buttah” so you definitely need them! I mean how perfect will they been on a cool crisp autumn day with your favorite cup of joe? Spanx…just the best things ever. I wear them all the time in the fall and winter. The are so flattering and easy to style!
