Hi loves, I’m Heather.

The gal behind the blog Heather Lingerfelt.  I am a North Carolina native who group up in a small town called Hudson, North Carolina.  I met the love of my life Shay, during my senior year of high school.  Once married, we moved around for many years during my husband’s career in the military.  Once he made the decision to separate from the military, we chose to move back closer to family as he too is from North Carolina.  We currently reside just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina.

I am a graduate of Appalachian State University where I received a degree in Elementary Education.  I pursued a successful career in teaching for twelve years.  I reached a pivotal moment in 2012 when I realized I needed to step outside of my comfort zone to challenge myself with new skills and the ability to grow.  To read more about that decision, check out the blog post here.  That honestly was one of the best decisions I ever made for myself.  Now, over six years later, I have built another successful career at one of the largest technology companies in the Charlotte area.

I launched my blog late in the fall of 2016.  While it began as a creative outlet, it has continued to evolve into so much more and will continue to do so. I have always had a love for fashion by creating that look that just exudes confidence and enhances what is already beautiful.  I also have a love for writing which began long before my educational career.  And, most of all, I have an incredible passion for others.  When I became inspired by friend who is a successful influencer, the fire ignited as I knew starting my own blog was meant to be. My aspirations are to provide you all with encouragement, motivation and a love for life through, travel, fashion, experiences and more.  If you’ve been following along, thank you from the bottom of my heart and if you’re new thank you for your time and I hope you return.  The best is yet to come!

History of Heather

Growing up in that small town, everybody knew everybody.  And to me, family always came first.  It was more important to me than anything.  I will forever cherish getting together with cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents for special occasions, but also just because.  For many years of my childhood, we even rented one beach house together each summer for a week. Those memories are beyond priceless.  While I loved every minute of growing up with a close knit family, I am also thankful for the opportunities I have been blessed with outside of that small town.  Moving away from home taught me a lot about who I am and how to rely heavily on my faith.  It also created an insanely strong relationship between Shay and I as we only had one another to lean on when being so far away from family.

Today, it’s a blessing to be back close to family, especially given the fact that I have two nephews and niece.  Family beach trips have commenced.  While a bit different without other family members, we easily fill a home with my parents, Shay and I and my brother’s family.  For myself, I am continuing to grow into who I am meant to be.  I don’t think we should ever stop pursuing what we are truly meant for in this life.
