Have you ever entered a room and felt so insecure that you simply wanted to crawl under the table? Have you felt inadequate like you simply didn’t measure up to those around you? Friend, I have been there countless times. Those insecurities can come from multiple places. Society doesn’t help with telling us daily how we should look and feel. And, well let’s be honest, our culture can set some very unrealistic expectations. If we don’t measure up according to it’s standards, then those insecurities can flood our minds causing a range of emotions.
I am here to tell you, it doesn’t have to be this way. You are worth so much more than those doubts and insecurities. Today, I am breaking down how to elevate your style and your mind. A path to a new you is just around the corner.
You’ve got to recognize that inner voice that’s telling you that you aren’t good enough. And, you must learn to redirect it. On average, 80 percent of a person’s daily thoughts are negative. Whoa, that’s crazy right. Just a few short years ago, I’d bet mine honestly was even higher.
Step one is to realize that what you give thought to time and time again will become what you believe. You have to make a conscious decision to elevate your thoughts. It is not easy and it will take time. I am still a work in progress!
One of the easiest things you can do is right down “I am” statements on sticky notes. Place them on your mirror and literally say them to yourself daily. Repeat them throughout the day especially when those negative thoughts enter your mind.
Start a gratitude journal. Reflect on what went well for you during the course of the day. Once your start shifting your mindset, you’ll create the habit to see the positives each day.
Surround yourself with things that will help elevate your mind and not bring you down. I shared in this post here how being selective makes a significant impact to your daily mindset. Another good tip is to start reading a good self-help book. I just started this one recently and so far, I absolutely love it! I am sharing a couple of others you may like as well!
Elevate Your Style
There is no doubt that I love lounge and athleisure wear. I also think that leggings, when styled properly can look uber chic as in this look here. However, those looks have their time and place. There is almost something magical that happens when you put effort into a very chic, elevated look.
Start with wearing a skirt or a dress paired with something like these boots. It’s easy to style a look with a pair of heels. Instead, take things up a notch and elevate your look with boots. They give a fierce vibe as in a force not to be reckoned with! A friend once called my boots “bleep” kicker boots. In other words, giving me the confidence to not let anyone tread on me. That was so long ago and a bit rough around the edges, but it’s also quite true!
A statement bag and sunglasses layered with any look simply take things to another level. They do not need to be over the top. A modest luxury bag and sunnies will have you feeling like a million bucks and walking like you’re headed down the runway! Who doesn’t want to feel glamorous and super chic!
You’ve Got This
At the end of the day you want to feel confident. An elevated style certainly helps to create that mindset. Simply remember, it truly starts with you and the decision to change the perspective in how you see yourself. Once you do, you will realize there is far more to your potential than you ever realized!
