Whether enjoying Thanksgiving with friends or family, styling for this occasion should be both chic and comfy. From the turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy to dressing, everything about this monumental meal says warm and welcoming. Your look should say just the same with a touch of chicness as well.

Color Scheme

Neutrals are most certainly my go-to for any season and any occasion. However, given the richness of the food and the colors of the season, I suggest selecting items that will pair with the colors of autumn. Not only do they look great on almost any skin tone, they portray that warm and welcoming vibe. The spice and camel colors have been absolutely beautiful this season. They are gorgeous standing alone as in this top here or layered.

Top

Keeping in mind that comfort is desired, a longer, flair fitting top is certainly appropriate. This shape especially pairs well with leggings or denim. However, to maintain a stylish, chic look, select one that still has some structure and form. I adore this top as it fits those criteria, but I also love the touch of an edge with it’s mixed media design. This particular top is by one of my favorite brands, Veronica Beard. The investment pieces I have from this brand always give a sense of confidence and sophistication. They are fierce, yet timeless, providing the ability to wear them season after season.

Leggings

While I understand leggings can be quite controversial, when styled appropriately, they are perfectly fine for the occasion. A pair of faux leather leggings not only provide comfort, but also an elevated look. When wearing them to a meal, or celebration with family or friends, I would suggest a longer tunic type top as noted above. You’ll feel stylishly chic and comfortable!

Accessories

When it comes to shoes and jewelry, I would keep these sleek and simple. Again, given the desire for comfort and remaining chic, minimalistic pieces will go a long way. I would select one item for a statement piece, such as a ring or necklace. Heels are certainly appropriate, but just think through how long you could be on your feet. Remember, you can always take a change of shoes, or simply wear some luxury sneakers!

Look Your Best, Feel Your Best

At the end of the day, do what works best for you. The most important part is being in the moment and enjoying time with family and friends. Take time to soak it all in and reflect on everything you have to be thankful for at this time. Be cozy, just remember it’s always okay to be as chic, edgy, sophisticated, glamorous or as casual as you want to be. As long as you look and feel your best, that’s all that matters! Happy Thanksgiving friends!
