Hello loves! Today I’m talking beauty and kicking off a series surrounding some of my favorite products that I simply can’t live without. Whether in my makeup drawer or makeup bag, these are my go-to “beauties” that I highly recommend.
Moisturizer: Okay, so let’s get personal. I have ridiculously sensitive facial skin. I can breakout at the drop of a hat or turn red as a beet. Being extremely picky with a moisturizer is a must for me. With that being said, there are a few that I will be recommending over the next few weeks that work so well for skin types like what I just mentioned. I was introduced to Darphin Intral Redness Relief a couple of months ago at my local Blue Mercury as I described my skin to the associate. This product has delivered and I am hooked. I use it both day and night. It has no anti-aging qualities but works wonders for calming down redness!
Primer: Laura Mercier hands down has the best primer. It’s silicone and oil free which makes it suitable for oily, red or skin types prone to breakouts. It glides on like silk and absorbs quickly creating the perfect palette for your foundation. This is one to certainly use everyday especially to prolong your foundation wear.
Lipstick: Mac lipsticks are like no other and believe me I’ve tried more than I can count on the market. The color is true to what you see in the tube and doesn’t change upon application. Additionally they are long-lasting and most importantly they don’t dry out your lips.
Lipgloss: I honestly have several glosses that I adore and again will be sharing over the coming weeks. Starting with Nars, I am over the moon at the fact that they aren’t tacky. Nothing is worse than a slight breeze causing your lovely locks to sway in the wind, only to become glued to your lips! Nars glosses can easily be worn independently or layered over your favorite lipstick.
Concealer: Tarte Shape tape rocks! My sister-n-law is who I have to thank for this one. If you are looking to hide flaws, dark circles, contour etc. then look no further. To top it off, it hasn’t caused breakouts and I’ve been using it since early spring. Now, I will say this is definitely on the thicker side. And honestly, I don’t use this one everyday. I use this particular concealer for date nights, events, weekends, etc.
Setting spray: This is another product favorite that I could use everyday I simply get in a hurry most days and end up skipping it. Yet, it takes seconds so I have no reason not to use it. On the weekends it’s definitely spritzed prior to heading out. It’s light and serves the purpose of holding everything together and providing a longer wear to your makeup. The Urban Decay De-Slick Oil Control is also a fave as it doesn’t breakout my skin or cause irritation.
Hope this helps those of you who may struggle with the right products or simply want to try new ones. Please let me know if you have any questions or want particular future suggestions!
