Did someone literally turn on the fall switch? Seriously though, it was in the 90’s what seems like just a couple of weeks ago. Now, we are waking up to temps in the 40’s! Talk about a drastic change! I was definitely ready for cooler temps, just not frigid, hah!
The days are still warming up to the 70’s which is nice. Those temps are fabulous for the perfect fall dress. I found this little plaid shirtdress at one of my current favorites, the Loft.
This plaid shirtdress is comfy and incredibly easy to throw on. It has a point collar with adorable button cuffs. The box pleat also allows it to hang beautifully. Additionally, the waist can be cinched with the matching paid belt, that comes with the dress. I chose to leave the belt off for a more relaxed look.

Plaid has never been a go-to pattern for me. To be quite honest, I typically pass it right by and don’t even bother giving it a try. However, if you have read any of my previous posts, I am working on stepping out of my comfort zone and taking new fashion risks. When I saw this plaid shirtdress, I almost passed it! Why? Because it didn’t look great at all on the hanger. But, I thought, why NOT! Much to my surprise, it worked!
The plaid is a wonderful plum color which I adore, but is also extremely on point for this fall. I don’t see myself going plaid crazy, but truly glad I bought this one.
I selected to pair it with a simple pair of peep toe booties. You truly could toss on some flats as well and head out the door. This plaid shirtdress can most assuredly be worn casually while running errands, or paired with booties for a lunch date. Jewelry was kept to a minimum with a simple bangle.
I can’t say plaid is my new BFF, but this dress is a winner!
