Hello Friday, so nice to see you. I know, I am always excited for Friday and the weekend but who isn’t! I hope everyone enjoyed the July 4th holiday. Personally, I had to do some work from home, but managed to squeeze in a little fun on the water. Shay and I decided to go tubing on the river close to where we live. Well, it was quite the experience. Due to storms rolling in, and continuing to float farther than we should on our first go, we had to get off of the river earlier than planned. Let’s just say I am so thankful for Uber! After walking over a mile on some country road{had no clue where we were}, we came to a neighborhood and were able to order a ride. We simply look back now and laugh at the whole experience. Planning a shorter float for our first time would have been more ideal. But like Shay says, “Go big or go home!”
Mission accomplished! Hah!
Now, let’s chat fashion. It’s summer and it’s hot, like really hot these days. So finding the perfect, little black summer dress does present a challenge. First, the concern of black during the summer. For me, I honestly love wearing black and am always drawn to it regardless of the time of year. It’s simply classic in my opinion and one can never go wrong with it. Not to mention, it’s easy for coordinating accessories.
Most recently, I wore this little black summer dress for a day out and about with Shay. The intricate cut-outs and the off-the-shoulder detail make this dress ideal for the summer heat. Additionally, the fabric is extremely lightweight and breathable. Whether day or night, this number has your covered!
This dress is by the Shilla brand and is one that is new to me. I picked it up from one of my favorite boutiques in town, The Pink Hanger. While this dress isn’t currently on their website, I have linked where you can find it and it’s currently on sale!
Since wearing this dress out during the day, simply pairing it with flat sandals is more appropriate. Adding a splash of color with my earrings while finishing off the look with a modern day beach bag, made this ensemble complete. The bag has been a summer favorite and it’s also currently on sale!! This look is an overall fun and flirty one with the perfect little black summer dress!
