Wow it’s Wednesday already. Where did the weekend go? This week is certainly flying by. I hope that you all had a delightful weekend and enjoyed some down time especially with Mother’s Day. We actually spent some time taking care of things around the home on Saturday while spending the day with my parents on Sunday for Mother’s Day. Nothing beats time with family that’s for sure. Our time was spent enjoying a delicious lunch at a 131 Main, a local fave in Charlotte. Followed by some shopping and a lot of laughter. It was most definitely a Sunday well spent!
Casual Chic
Today I want to share one of my most coveted looks and give you tips on how easy it is to create a casual chic look. Casual chic isn’t necessarily a particular style as it is more of an attitude or take on fashion. It’s one I find to take little effort, yet creates a sophisticated put together look. Whether heading out with the gal pals, running errands or even to the office if you are allowed to wear denim, it’s simply perfect. Some of the pieces used could very well already be sitting in you closet at the present moment! Add a few essentials and you are set.
The Blazer
Most recently I became a huge fan of a structured blazer. This honestly should be a wardrobe staple year round simply because you can create variety of looks around this one piece. It’s an easy one to dress up for the office or down as in this casual chic look. Personally, a blazer is one that looks great on about it any body style. It often creates and elongated slim shape. And if you’re vertically challenged like myself, you can use all the help you can get to elongate your figure. What I adore most about this blazer is that it’s lined providing a different look when rolling up the sleeves. It’s also extremely comfortable and washable. You will certainly see this blazer on repeat. I strongly suggest investing in quality blazer. The reason for that is again you will be able to use it often with various looks. It’s one you will want to use year after year, season after season.
Creating The Look
I created this casual chic look by pairing with a simple pair of light denim jeans and a patterned ballet flat. The light denim provides a nice contrast with the black blazer creating a very clean, streamlined look while the ballet flat, in faux snake-skin, provides a bit of an edge. The look was polished off with a classic pair of aviators and a neutral handbag. A basic white tee was used for layering along with diamond studs. The casual chic look can take you from errands, to a casual business meeting, to lunch with your favorite friend. It’s truly a classic, sophisticated look that can also be replicated any time of year.
