Hey hey it’s Monday and oh oh where did the weekend go? Yay for getting an extra hour of sleep but no thank you to losing daylight. Anyone else not a fan of that? Honestly, the time changing can just stop. I kind of feel like Ross on Friends with the black light episode where he states…”It’s 1999!” Well, it’s almost 2019 and we are still changing the time. I mean really? Do you know it’s implementation began in 1916! Hello, time to move on and stop this madness, pun intended, hah!
Okay, enough of time talk, let’s chat fall. There are so many things I love about fall. Today, I am sharing some of my favorite fall skirts. Staying in a neutral palette, I change it up mostly with either material or pattern.
Skirt Styles and Lengths
Due to being on the shorter side, I lean more towards pencil skirts, shift or a-line. I also look for those above the knee. I suggest the same if you are 5’4″ and under. These will elongate your figure also portraying a slimmer silhouette as well.
Material and Pattern
As temperatures fall, a thicker blend of material will most certainly be more fitting. I love a wool blend, leather or even faux leather. These are so easily paired with a simple blouse or sweater for a chic finish. As mentioned, neutrals are always fitting and must for the wardrobe. But, don’t hesitate to play with pattern and prints. Plaid is constant fall print but let’s not forget the one on trend, the animal print!
Putting it All Together
Take the approach of opposites attract. If the skirt is a solid neutral, accentuate with a patterned sweater or blouse. When wearing a plaid or leopard print skirts, I suggest wearing a solid blouse or sweater. However, if you are more bold, you can certainly mix patterns together. Definitely wear what makes you feel confident and beautiful!
