When building a classic fall wardrobe, there are a few classic must have pieces that are essential for your wardrobe. Not only will they get you through the season, they will likely transition with you into winter.
Denim
Denim is year round but most certainly key during the fall. Temperatures often fluctuate from sun up to sun down. Denim not only works for changes in temperature, but can easily be dressed up or down. They are easy to toss on with heels, flats or boots. I highly recommend investing in denim that will last more than one season. My current go to brands are Rag and Bone and Frame. Without a doubt, I have pairs from years prior that are still going strong. The other recommendation is to find a pair at least a shade or two darker than those you may have worn during the cooler summer evenings.
Classic Black Sweater
Simply stated is the classic black sweater. It’s timeless and truly perfection when dressing for fall. It easily stands alone with a pair of denim, a plaid skirt, or leggings. You truly can’t go wrong with it’s versatility and the ease of sophistication it brings to any look. When it comes to this key item, it’s often best to search for cashmere or a blend so that not only will you look and feel luxurious, but there will be no concern of itch or irritation from that level of quality. Additionally, when taken care of properly, you are again investing in an item that should last you multiple seasons. I have fallen head over heels for this one by Ba&sh. The slight puff of the sleeves adds an elevated detail that is wonderful for both day and night.
Flats
Flats are obviously great year round. However, during the fall I often find that pairing them with denim and sweaters is just more enjoyable before transitioning into boots. A neutral pair is a safe choice simply so that they coordinate with various sweaters scarves and jackets. These are a great dupe which wasn’t my intent. I gravitated towards their style and comfort first, before noticing the similar luxury resemblance.
Statement Bag
My love for luxury bags is for many reasons. Brand history, design, durability, functionality are just naming a few. I realize luxury bags may not be for everyone and that is okay. We all should choose our own luxury and what we want to invest in. I sincerely take my time prior to making a decision on a luxury bag. For me, another reason why I do appreciate them more, is also for the statement that they make. The statement in the realm of how they easily elevate a look. This particular Celine bag has been a part of my wardrobe now for many years. It is classic, timeless and very sophisticated. Whether you choose a luxury bag or not, look for bags with structure that will stand the test of time. One that will not only make this year’s fall looks stand out, but those for many years to come!
