The past weekend was spent in Mexico on a company trip. On this trip, I made a huge stride by choosing to step on stage and sing in front of over 900 co-workers. Singing is something I’ve done quite a bit throughout my life but took a big hiatus from. It took insane amounts of courage. I often fret and worry about what others think of me. So, let’s just say this was an epic step towards growing my confidence in myself. I plan to share more on this topic in future posts.
Interestingly enough, it also takes confidence to step out of your comfort zone with fashion. What I am constantly learning is that confidence is a huge part in all of this. You must find what you love and then own it like a BOSS! Just like stepping on that stage, confidence was required while strutting in this printed smocked blouson dress.

The smocked blouson dress is totally not typical for my taste. Yet, I decided to take the plunge and give it a whirl. This chiffon dress with an a-line skirt is incredibly flattering for an hour-glass figure. Pairing with these little booties not only gives an edgy appeal but additionally elongates the legs. For a gal of my height, this is simply perfection.
Moreover, this type of dress is wonderful for day or night. You can easily layer with a denim or leather jacket as well. The print itself is rather abstract. Yet pairing with traditional strappy heels would take away the edge. So sticking with accessories that are a bold statement are more fitting. Not to mention, over the knee boots would be stunning as well!
Here’s to a Happy Wednesday and wonderful rest of the week!
You’re rocking this dress! Obsessed with the pattern!!
